Mike brings his Christmas sermon series His Story Can Change Yours - highlighting not only the Christmas story, but the fact that the end of our personal story is not fully written yet! God desires to transform our story as we learn the REAL message of the Christmas story together!
Mike calls us to realize that God sees everything, knows us personally, and is powerful enough to defeat our problems and lead us to glory! His message God Knows Everything! uses Psalm 139 to help us understand our Father's care for us.
Mike presents an 8-part series introducing us to the ministry of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark, believed to be the earliest recorded Gospel. The series is entitled Mark My Words, and you'll find the individual messages listed and linked below.
Mike helps us to look at the life of the apostle Peter, and learn from his experiences that change doesn't generally come all at once to a new believer -- but rather, develops in stages Mike calls initial, fundamental, and transformative change. What does a mature Christian look like? Jonathan Thayer, an Enrollment Counselor at Mid-Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City, NC helps us to look at the New Testment-era church at Philippi, and using three distinct Biblical characters, helps us to better see and understand The Beauty of the Gospel and what it means to each of us.
Mike Curry brings us a message based in Matthew's gospel, where we find Jesus challenging His followers with the principle of the wide and narrow gates. Mike challenges us as well to choose the right way in his sermon entitled Stepping Stones to Glory.
Former CHCC youth minister Sean Plank presents a message we can all be encouraged by as he teaches us that CHCC is unstoppable! Sean reminds us that God designed the Church to be family, and that it CAN be family - but only when we when we Listen and Obey.
David Curry, son of CHCC senior minister Mike Curry, is a rising Sophomore at Mid-Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City, NC. On our 2011 Bible College Sunday, David brought us an insightful message encouraging us to not be stunted in our walk with God, and to never settle for following God by understanding Only Half the Story.
Mike causes us to examine an important yet often neglected aspect of the Christian life - sharing financially in support of God's work. He asks us to consider OUR generosity factor in his latest sermon, Called to Be Generous.
Mike teaches us about our worth to God using two brief and familiar stories that Jesus told to a gathered crowd - then he challenges us with an unusual twist to help us understand God's love for us more fully - in his message A Hidden Treasure, A Costly Pearl.
Guest speaker Charlie Stephenson, camp manager at Camp Rudolph in Yale, VA, brings a message that challenges us to examine how we spend our time and set our priorities - and how these processes impact our devotion to God - in his sermon entitled Mind Control.
Mike Curry shares some thoughts on True Freedom on the occasion of this year's 4th of July weekend.
Mike uses the Bible story of the Pharisee and the tax collector to help us understand that right perspectives in following God lead to good outcomes such as untold peace, contentment, and blessings in his sermon Why Are You Here Today?
